EIFL is to present a paper at the 3rd AfLIA Conference and 5th African Library Summit, which brings together library leadership and librarians, government officials and other information professionals and stakeholders from across Africa.
The conference and summit are organized and hosted by the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA). The 2019 theme is ‘African Libraries Creating the Africa We Want and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals’.
EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) Manager Ramune Petuchovaite will present the paper, which is about the Initiative for African Young Library Innovators (IYALI). IYALI is a learning programme organized by EIFL-PLIP, AfLIA and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). It aims to expose emerging public library innovators in Africa to experiences and ideas from other developing and transition economy countries.
Six IYALI 2018 participants will also participate in the conference. The six were awarded scholarships to attend, on a competitive basis. Each winner will give an Ignite Talk focused on new and innovative services being implemented at their libraries.
