EIFL in Palestine

EIFL has been working in Palestinian since 2005. We supported the creation of the Palestinian Library and Information Consortium (PALICO, uniting libraries in both West Bank and Gaza), and through this partnership, libraries in Palestine are providing access to a wide range of scholarly e-resources. EIFL agreements with publishers also allow authors in Palestine to publish in open access in hybrid or fully open access journals at waived or discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs).

EIFL supported the first national open access awareness raising workshop, which led universities to adopt open access policies and set up open access repositories, opening their research to the world. EIFL also advocated for revisions to the copyright law to enable libraries to better meet the needs of their users.
