ABOUT THE RESOURCE
Final evaluation report of the Continuous Professional Development / Training of Trainers (CPD/ToT) programme that was developed and implemented from 2018 to 2020 by EIFL in partnership with the Namibia Library and Archives Service (NLAS), which manages Namibia’s network of 66 public libraries.
The report provides an overview of the CPD/ToT programme and its results and impact in public libraries in Namibia. The programme aimed to build subject knowledge and training skills of a corps of NLAS staff, who could then be deployed to provide training within the NLAS network. The aim was to ensure that the NLAS had sufficient training capacity to provide ongoing training in future.
Sixteen NLAS staff members selected to become trainers completed intensive training that took place over a period of 19 months. The curriculum covered topics and skills critical to developing, managing and sustaining modern library services, and training and facilitation skills. The final evaluation was completed in 2020.
