The presentation was given at the Open access publishing workshop hosted by Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC), the University of Nairobi and EIFL.

Workshop attendees included staff from Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research offices, members of Boards for Postgraduate Research, scholarly journals editors, researchers and librarians from the University of Nairobi and KLISC member institutions.

EIFL-OA Programme Manager Iryna Kuchma gave an introduction to open access publishing.

Ina Smith, an expert on open access from Stellenbosch University (SU) in South Africa, talked about open access publishing from an institutional perspective and will present SU open access publishing platform and its impact.
