In this EIFL webinar, guest speaker Curtis Brundy, Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Communications and Collections at Iowa State University, will share his experience of how the university is supporting openness through principles, strategy and agreements with publishers. The webinar will cover:
- Iowa State University's overall strategy, including their principles for openness, which support open access, transparency, and financial sustainability;
- Agreements negotiated with journal publishers that include open access publishing terms, including with pure open access publishers and society and university press publishers;
- Open access investments in infrastructure and cooperative models like Knowledge Unlatched, Punctum Books, and Open Library of the Humanities;
- Changes in existing agreements, such as the cancellation of the Big Deal subscription to Elsevier and Wiley.
