Ten Ugandan public librarians, from Jinja, Soroti, Kamuli, Pallisa and Bugiri public libraries, are taking part in a three-day workshop on new service development, community needs assessment and impact assessment for public libraries.

The workshop is led by a team of trainers from the National Library of Uganda, who recently attended EIFL train-the-trainers workshops in Zambia and Namibia. The newly-skilled trainers, Stella Nekusa, Jennifer Nalwanga, Daisy Ashabahebwa and Raymond Amanyabyoonaare, are passing on knowledge and skills to other public librarians in Uganda through cascade training workshops.
