
EIFL has signed a renewal agreement with The Company of Biologists to continue free access as well as free open access publishing for corresponding authors in all five of its journals. The agreement covers 33 EIFL partner countries and is valid until 31 December 2029.
Corresponding authors from 33 EIFL partner countries can continue to publish accepted research articles in open access for free in The Company of Biologists’ five journals: two fully open access journals - Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open, and three hybrid journals - Development, the Journal of Cell Science and the Journal of Experimental Biology.
Libraries and researchers will continue to receive free access to The Company of Biologists’ journals. The renewal agreement also includes access to journal archives, which date back to 1853.
The agreement covers the following 33 countries:
Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, Ghana, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lesotho, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Malawi, Maldives, Moldova, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Serbia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
