The Kyiv School of Economics and (prostoscience.org) ProstoScience project will host the (opencon2014.org/kyiv) OpenCon 2014 Kyiv "Professional development: open access, digital science and international publications" on December 5, 2014.

The purpose of the seminar is to promote Open Access and share with the Ukrainian Faculty what will be useful for their teaching and research. Also, participants will learn about the basic statistical data resources that are necessary for economic research, and the possibility of obtaining grants.

This one-day scientific workshop will combine expert presentations, discussion of the latest trends in the field of access to scientific resources and training, in particular such issues as:

  • access to open academic resources and statistics
  • tools for open scientific cooperation
  • the possibility of obtaining grants for faculty
  • the ability to publish articles in international journals
  • tools to detect plagiarism

This is a satellite event to OpenCon 2014 - the student and early career researcher conference on Open Access, Open Education, and Open Data that was held on November 15-17, at the American University Washington College of Law and the US Capitol in Washington, DC.

EIFL Open Access Programme Manager Iryna Kuchma will attend and will speak at the event.
