EIFL’s Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) will present a paper at the IFLA Public Libraries Satellite Meeting which takes place in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The satellite conference precedes IFLA2014, the International Federation of Library Associations World Library and Information Congress, which takes place in Lyon, France, from August 16–24.
Titled Public Library Futures in a Global Digital World, the satellite conference has two main themes: (1) Breaking down barriers between physical and digital, and (2) Libraries in the digital economy.
The EIFL-PLIP paper is titled Small services, big impact: public libraries' contribution to urban and rural development. It is written by EIFL-PLIP Communication Coordinator, Jean Fairbairn, and EIFL-PLIP Impact Manager Ugne Lipeikaite.
Jean Fairbairn will present the paper on August 13 in the new Library of Birmingham, the largest public library in Europe, which is hosting the satellite conference.
