Chris Coward of University of Washington (USA) will introduce ‘The Euphorigen Investigation’ game during the EIFL-PLIP T-break.

Public librarians who have completed training-of-trainers programmes organized by the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) and partners in Kenya, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia are invited to attend this informal knowledge sharing event - a ‘T-break’, where T stands for trainers - on the topic, ‘Investigating misinformation: An escape room game for library users’.

Guest speaker Chris Coward of University of Washington (USA) will introduce ‘The Euphorigen Investigation’ game - an online escape room that immerses players in a world of manipulated media, social media bots, deepfakes and other forms of deception. Participants will be invited to solve a mystery in teams of 4-6 players! The game is freely available online in both online and in-person versions.

The aim of the T-breaks is to refresh the trainers’ knowledge, share practical experiences and to build a local and cross-border support network of public library trainers. Since 2017, EIFL has trained 62 public librarians in Kenya, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia to become trainers, and they have cascaded the training to over 650 librarians in their countries.
