EIFL is to participate in the 3rd African Public Libraries Summit, which brings together public library leadership and librarians, government officials and other information professionals and stakeholders from across Africa.
The summit is organized and hosted by the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA). This year’s summit theme is ‘Driving Development: African Public Libraries Delivering on The Development Agenda’.
EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) Manager Ramune Petuchovaite will take part in the summit.
In addition, six winners of IYALI scholarships will each give an Ignite Talk focused on new and innovative services being implemented at their libraries as a result of IYALI (Initiative for Young African Library Innovators). IYALI is a learning programme organized by EIFL-PLIP, AfLIA and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). IYALI aims to expand the professional horizons of African public librarians and help them see their own work and achievements in a new and different light.
