The EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) commissioned this research to deepen understanding of perceptions of public libraries in Kenya. This report is extracted from the larger study, Perceptions of public libraries in Africa, which includes six countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Researchers surveyed perceptions of stakeholders including public library users and non-users, librarians, local and national government officials and media. The research was conducted by the social and marketing research company, TNS RMS East Africa Ltd., from December 2010 to July 2011.
