ABOUT THE RESOURCE
COUNTER provides the standard that enables the knowledge community to count the use of electronic resources. The standard, known as the Code of Practice, ensures that vendors and publishers can provide their library customers with consistent, credible and comparable usage data.
COUNTER 5.1 (published in May 2023) will become the current Code of Practice and the requirement for COUNTER compliance effective from January 2025.
In this webinar (approx. 40 minutes) for EIFL Licensing Coordinators and their member libraries, Tasha Mellins-Cohen, Director of COUNTER, presents COUNTER 5.1 and discusses -
- What’s changed from Release 5, and why;
- What report providers (publishers, aggregators, technology providers) need to do to remain compliant;
- What report consumers (libraries, consortia, funders) should do to prepare for the changes;
- How Release 5.1 is optimized for open access.
