EIFL and our partner consortium in Uganda, the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries (CUUL), will host a two-day workshop for repository managers from 11 universities. The workshop aims to increase open access content in institutional repositories in Uganda.
The 11 universities are: Bishop Stuart University, Busitema University, Islamic University in Uganda, Kampala International University, Makerere University, Makerere University Business School, Muni University, Nkumba University, Uganda Christian University, Uganda Management Institute and Uganda Martyrs’ University.
During the workshop, participants will:
- Review standard metadata fields for particular for entries
- Review repository content deposit workflows.
- Enter 100 items per institution over the two days.
The 11 universities are taking part in a three-year project, ‘OA policy development in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to make more digital content available’. The project is funded by Spider, the Swedish Programme for ICT in Developing Regions, located at DSV, Department of Computer and System Sciences, which is part of Stockholm University.
