EIFL joined a 13-strong team representing the world’s libraries, archives and museums advocating for an international treaty for fair access to knowledge at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR/33), which met in Geneva from 14-18 November 2016.
In a new blog, Teresa presents a round-up of the week that saw the conclusion of the first round of discussion on topics relating to libraries and archives, 20 interventions by representatives of libraries, archives and museums (including five by EIFL), a powerful statement by Latin American countries featuring Brazilian feminist, Bertha Lutz, that highlights the need for international copyright reform, and a presentation by EIFL at one of two lunch-time events on Marrakesh Treaty for persons with print disabilities.
