EIFL to showcase innovative public library services at this international forum on information and development

The EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) has invited six inspiring librarians to showcase innovative local library services during the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) 2022. The session is titled, ‘Showcasing Local Libraries' Input to SDG's Achievement’.

The six librarians have taken part in the EIFL Initiative for Young African Library Innovators, or are from libraries that have won an EIFL Public Library Innovation Award. They are: Sadia Jafrin, Grow Your Reader Foundation, Bangladesh; Jemmimah Maragwa, Kenya National Library Service;  Monika Straupyte, Manager for Culture Programmes at Kaunas Municipal Vincas Kudirka Public Library, Lithuania; Jeff Bonile Nyoka, City of Johannesburg Libraries, South Africa; Peter Balaba, Nakaseke Public Library, Uganda, and Constance Chilipa, Solwezi Provincial Library / Zambia Library Service.

The WSIS Forum, held annually, is the world's largest annual gathering of the ‘ICT for development’ community.
