Ramune Petuchovaite, EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) Manager, is one of two presenters at this Gibabit Libraries Network (GLN) online event exploring internet access, digital services, physical materials and social infrastructure in libraries. 

The theme of the event, which is one of a series organized by GLN, is ‘DIY Wireless and ICT Challenges Worldwide’.

Petuchovaite’s presentation will focus on the work of EIFL-PLIP in supporting public libraries in developing and transition economy countries to integrate ICT into knowledge and information services, overcoming challenges like poor telecommunications infrastructure, the high cost of hardware and software, and lack technology knowledge and skills. 

Michael Calabrese, of New America Foundation’s Open Technology Institute will speak about low cost wireless options for libraries and communities to narrow the digital divide.
