The Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, which researches international relations and foreign policy issues, and whose foreign policy and strategy recommendations help guide Myanmar’s bilateral and multilateral relations, has joined the EIFL eLibrary Myanmar project.
In addition to making important contributions to foreign policy formulation, the institute’s work aims to deepen understanding and shape perceptions of Myanmar in the East Asian region and beyond. The institute is also a member of and cooperates with other regional and global think tanks and research bodies, for example, the Network of East Asia Think Tanks (NEAT).
By joining the EIFL e-Library Myanmar project, the institute gains access to a comprehensive library of e-resources that will be vital to the work of the institute’s researchers and students.
E-RESOURCES ARE ‘URGENTLY NEEDED’
“These e-resources are urgently needed,” says Edward Ziwa Naing, research fellow and coordinator at the institute. “We have been writing blindly without any reliable online resources.”
The Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies’ new e-library includes academic journals from Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, SAGE Publications, JSTOR, and Taylor & Francis; reference databases from Oxford University Press, SAGE Publications, and Credo Reference; academic monographs from Oxford Scholarship Online; and legal databases from Oxford University, Justis and JustCite. All e-resources are searchable via the EBSCO Discovery Service.
Access to e-resources for the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies is made possible thanks to support from the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).
EIFL is seeking further sponsorship and support from other publishers who would be willing to donate access to e-resources that are relevant to the institute’s work. Should you wish to support increased access to knowledge by the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, please write to EIFL - info@eifl.net.
