EIFL renews agreement with The Company of Biologists
EIFL’s free read & publish agreement with The Company of Biologists is renewed for a further three years

EIFL has signed an agreement with The Company of Biologists to provide free access as well as free open access publishing for corresponding authors in all five of its journals. The agreement covers 30 EIFL partner countries and is valid until 31 December 2026.

Libraries in 30 countries are eligible for free access to the three specialist journals.

OPEN ACCESS PUBLISHING

Corresponding authors from 30 EIFL partner countries can continue to publish accepted research articles in open access for free in The Company of Biologists’ three hybrid journals: Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology. From January 2024, corresponding authors can also publish for free in the :The Company of Biologists’ two fully open access journals: Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open.

This means that they will not be charged any Article Processing Charges (APCs). Recognition of authors will be automatic when they submit an article.

The free read and publish agreement cover the following 30 countries:

Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, Ghana, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, North Macedonia, Malawi, Maldives, Moldova, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
