Libraries in EIFL partner countries have planned several events for Open Education Week, a global initiative to highlight the ways in which open education can help people meet their goals in education, by developing skills and knowledge for work, supporting formal studies, learning something new for personal interest, or looking for additional teaching resources.

Open Education Week is coordinated by the Open Education Consortium, an association of hundreds of organizations around the world that are committed to the ideals of open education.  During Open Education Week, universities, colleges, schools and other educational organizations showcase what they’re doing to make education more open, free, and available to everyone.

Events organized in EIFL partner countries include:

EIFL Open Access country coordinator in Serbia, Milica Sevkusic, plans the following events, jointly organized by the University Library in Belgrade Svetozar Markovic, Librarians' Section of the Serbian Association of Institutes and KoBSON:

University of Belgrade, in Serbia, has entered a webinar titled Open Badges in Education.

In Molova, an event titled What is Open Education? Why is Open Education important? will take place at the Universitatea Liberă Internațională din Moldova (Free International University of Moldova).
