Ghana regional librarians to attend training
Training for Ghana Library Authority managers follows a major training initiative in Ghana that involved 27 public libraries to foster service innovations in Ghana

Representatives of Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) and 10 regional public librarians will take part in a three-day workshop on public library innovation and leadership development, organized jointly by the Goethe-Institut in sub-Saharan Africa and the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP).

The training aims to strengthen Ghana library leaders’ capacities in project and change management, advocacy and fundraising to introduce new, information and communication technology (ICT) enabled services that meet community development needs.

The workshop will be led by a team of local and international library experts, featuring Dr. Hannelore Vogt from Germany. Dr. Vogt is the director of Cologne Public Library that is well-known in Germany and beyond for cutting-edge new services, including ones based on ICT’s (see the video made by Public Libraries 2020 tour in the Cologne).  

Impact assessement specialist Kristine Paberza and Ramune Petuchovaite, EIFL-PLIP programme’s manager, will contribute to the training by sharing knowledge about implemented pilot projects in other African countries.
