The European winner of the EIFL Public Library Innovation Award for Public libraries contributing to literacy, Lviv Regional Children’s Library in Ukraine, will receive their prize and trophy during the 3rd Biblioteka Nowa conference in Warsaw, Poland.

Lviv Regional Children’s Library won the award for their innovative ‘Literlandiya’ service, which uses an interactive computer game to teach children and adults how to read and write using the Ukrainian alphabet.

Larysa Luhova, Director of Lviv Regional Library for Children, will receive the award on behalf of the library, and give a short presentation about the service. EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme coordinator, Edvaldas Baltrunas, will present the award.

The Biblioteka Nowa conference for the Polish library sector is organized by the Polish Book Institute and the Goethe-Institut Warsaw.

Since 2011, EIFL has completed eight exciting innovation award calls and announced the names of 29 winners in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
